It's a pity APHRA didn't realise that siding with Zionism would eventually cause them more problems than being impartial. When all this lobbying occurred the world already knew what they were doing in Gaza and Lebanon. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out which way it was going...

Untersteiner untermined his own credibility when he buckled to Segal's blatant political lobbying. He thus appeared to concede that criticism of Zionism IS antisemitic despite recent judicial rulings to the contrary, and despite his own waffly protestations.

URGENT‼️

The exact same thing is unfolding in the tertiary education sector. TEQSA has asked all universities to have a definition of antisemitism (to be enforced) by January 2027. They are pushing for IHRA or Universities Australia definition, both of which fail the test they ask other definitions to meet.

Deadline for submission to TEQSA is today at 5pm AEST. Please sign before then.

If anyone here is an academic staff at an Australian institution, please join onto the open letter and submission by Scholars for Academic Freedom and Due Process (SAFDP).

They are using the dehumanisation framework to make sure that all definitions of particular racisms are responding to the same standard: was anyone dehumanised?

The submission is incredibly thorough. You should take a look if you are interested in this discussion.
