Labor, besides sprinting to the right all in its own, is very reactionary and weak when attacked from the right, so expecting them to do the correct thing is not an option. Every act of antisemitism, real or not (thinking of the fake Sydney caravan), linked to an organised resistance to Israel's genocide is Palestine or not, just gives the government more excuses to become Zionism supporters in their own right. I fear we are well on our way to similar scenarios. And it’s going to take a massive effort to stop us hurtling there. But we are going to have to give it everything we’ve got

PM Albanese is undermining social cohesion by (1) failing to refute pro-Israel lobbyists' allegations that peaceful pro-Palestinian protests incited the Bondi terror attack, (2) adopting pro-Israel perspectives that intentionally conflate antisemitism with legitimate criticism of Israel, and, it appears, (3) preparing to criminalise criticism of Israel's illegal occupation, apartheid system, ethic cleansing and genocide as Jillian Segal would define it as 'hate speech'.
What can those of us who seek safety, peace and justice for all people do?

Over the last week or so I have become more aware of the role of Chabad ( Rabbi was part of this group) in raising money for illegal settlements and IDF. It reminded me of the Goldberg case where charities were illegally raising money and money laundering in Australia for Israeli terrorism I am wondering if this massacre has bought attention to the darker side of the Zionist community in Australia.
