I too am a carer of elderly parents. It is both the most heartbreaking and wonderful gift. I am a blessed daughter, quietly breaking in the gaps between.

Thank you for this story of your parents and the green peas.

Thank you for sharing your family story. While it reminds me of my own family story, it also reminds me of how

Australia has turned colonisation and foreign conflicts and upheaval we participated in, into long-term economic and demographic windfalls.

You have inherited strength of those old limestone walls. The hands that built them will be pleased.

I spent six months last year looking after my elderly mama before she died peacefully in our arms during the aftermath of a wild storm. It was the greatest privilege of my life.

I cried reading this. Much love to you, Anton, and your beautiful parents

What courage you’ve had to write this. Having read your moving book “Rebirth: A Love Story from the Depths of War” I feel I can picture your parents and it just feels too much that after all they and your family has faced, that you all must now endure these challenges as well. Please accept my sincere wishes for the grace to travel this new journey with love and caring.
