How to Support

It is becoming an old adage on Substack, but it’s true: for independent journalism to survive, we need the support of our community.

We have no billionaires backing us, nor do we want them. We have no cashed up lobby groups in our ears, because lobbyists shouldn’t determine what you should or shouldn’t see, hear or read.

The most basic role of journalism is to keep the public fully informed of the issues that matter - and on this front, sadly, our peers in mainstream media are failing.

This work is essential - for our communities and our democracies. Times are tough, but without solidarity and community, the powerful will continue to get away with their actions with full impunity.

So, if you can, please support - here are a few ways how:

1. Follow us on socials and engage

An easy way to support is by following us on Instagram and subscribing to our YouTube channel.

We strongly encourage you to engage with our posts (like, share, comment) to combat algorithmic censorship by the tech giants.

2. Subscribe to our Substack

Subscribing is free and will ensure everything we post here lands in your inbox. We created Deepcut with the intent on keeping our journalism free, as we believe it to be an essential public service.

3. Tell your family and friends

Spread the word, there’s independent journalism out there doing the work mainstream media won’t! Send your family and friends links to our work, encourage them to subscribe or, if you’re thinking of a gift idea, give them a gift subscription!

4. Upgrade to paid subscription

If you have the means, please consider upgrading your subscription for only A$12 per month - or from 33 cents a day! Every bit helps keep this page functioning, and everything we receive is poured right back into our journalism.

5. Become a Deep Fan!

If you’re like us and absolutely passionate about independent journalism and the work we do, become a Deep Fan for A$200 per year!

6. Join the chat

One benefit about being a paid subscriber is you can join the Deepcut News chat on Substack and start your own threads. We’re all about community and encourage all of our paid subscribers to respectfully engage with one another.
